NEW MEXICO trip
About a month ago for spring break I took 11 kids down to Albuquerque, New Mexico in the skate bus. I was a little worried that the bus would not make it, but I figured we would give it a shot. Our first stop was the Colorado Springs park where we got to skate for an hour before dusk. We were able to share with a few kids, and then we headed out. The bus killed it. It went right up those hills no problem, except the engine got a little hot so, I cranked the heat up to keep it from overheating. When we arrived in New Mexico, a good friend of mine Bo, who also does a skate ministry met us down there. We had a place to stay at a Baptist Church. They were gracious enough to let us use the whole building including a kitchen, beds, and a gym to skate and play games in. We had so much fun in there. The next day we went to a brand new skate park, and stayed there all day and night till the lights went out at 10, 9 hours total!! It was amazing we got to share with a bunch of kids. One of the local kids showed up at the park with only slippers on, does one ollie and falls down holding his neck. He was trying to skate but I could tell he was in pain, so after skating some more with him I asked if he wanted me to rub his neck. I explained that I’m really good at it. I started rubbing it and it was jacked. After I worked on it for like 5 minutes, he said it felt great. Then later on I asked him if he knew Jesus Christ and he was like dude are you serious? and I was like I’m dead serious man. Then I shared my testimony with him, how I used to think that if i followed God he would take away all my fun and so after I had done all the things the world had to offer and how it left me empty and lost I realized that only God could fulfill me. I totally got to explain the gospel to him, it was so amazing. At the end he looked me in the eye and said thanks a lot man. The whole trip was amazing!! My kids and I, and Bo and his kids from Texas, and a bunch of Bo’s old friends from New Mexico, all hanging out and blessing one another. Then on the last day one of Bo’s friends who I shared with earlier, but was not wanting to hear about Christ, comes up to me and said, dude I used to go to Church, and read the bible but just kinda gave up. I got to encourage him to come back to God and read the Word again, and I got to pray for him and another rad dude. It was such a rad trip!! God totally moved in all our lives as we just stepped out in faith believing and trusting that he would show up, and he did in a big way!! Praise God and bless his holy name both now into all eternity!!
